Getting Firmware 2.0 for free on the iTouch

Download the custom 2.0 firmware file for free on the internet.
Go to iTunes (a version lower than 7.7)
Go to the Restore option and click and press the shift key at the same time. A browser will open up. Locate the firmware file you downloaded and select OK.
The iPod will restore and reboot with firmware 2.0 and all its features installed.

Firmware 2.0

Along with the release of the iPhone 3G has come the 2.0 firmware update for the 1G iPhone and the iPod Touch. The infamous App Store is included in this update.
